New Hampshire Electric Cooperative Vegetation Management (clearing & herbicides)

Herbicide Treatment Opt Out Now Available for 2023

New Hampshire Electric Cooperative (NHEC) is responsible for maintaining the “rights-of-way” where power lines are located. Trees and vegetation in close proximity to the electric system are the leading cause of power outages. To keep NHEC's electrical distribution system as safe and reliable as possible, NHEC periodically maintains the spaces occupied by the miles of energized lines in Center Harbor, including clearing power line right-of-ways, removing questionable trees, and selective use of herbicide and stump treatments.

To learn more about the NHEC Vegetation Management programs, see https://www.nhec.com/vegetation/ (under the "Outages and Safety" section of the NHEC website).

For specific information on opting out of herbicide treatment for any rights-of-way for power lines on your property or properties, see https://www.nhec.com/nhecs-annual-herbicide-opt-out-form/ (includes online opt-out form, please submit by end of April).
