About the Nichols Library
The James E. Nichols Memorial Library was dedicated in 1910 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Learn more about our history here. The library is open to residents of Center Harbor, people from neighboring communities and summer visitors.

Our Collection. The Nichols Library contains has over 14,000 items that appeal to a wide range of ages and interests, including popular and classic fiction, non-fiction that offers practical and topical information, and books for young readers from toddlers to teens. Our historic collection has 300 books on New Hampshire, the Lakes region, Center harbor and Belknap College. We still own books from the original collection.
