September 2, 2016 - LCHIP Staff Dijit Taylor, Executive Director (right), and Jenna Lapachinski, Historic Resource Specialist, visited our Town House as part of the LCHIP grant application review process. LCHIP is the NH Land & Community Heritage Investment Program.
Dijit Taylor examines the crawlspace under the Town House. An LCHIP grant has been requested to help fund excavating the crawlspace, replacing stone-pile piers with proper footings and posts, and installing a vapor barrier. Because the ground will be disturbed, funded for an archaeological study is also requested.
Jenna Lapachinski documents the site visit with photos.
Through the small access opening, you can see the stone piles supporting the floor beams.
Dijit Taylor climbs down into the woodshed foundation for a closer look.
Jenna Lapachinski probes a small area of carpenter ant damage to the siding. A decision on our LCHIP grant application is expected in late November.
