Officer MacLeod served in the US Navy where she was an aircraft mechanic, aircrew member, and took part in drug interdiction operations. When her youngest child graduated high school, she decided to pursue a career in law enforcement. Michelle became a police officer for the Town of Bartlett before coming to Center Harbor in 2019. She was a crisis negotiator for the Belknap Special Operations Group for two years before having to leave both Center Harbor and BSOG in December of 2021. She moved out of the area and took a position as an Investigator for the NH Liquor Commission. After moving back into the area in 2023, Michelle was able to rejoin the Center Harbor Police Department.
